Antique Pool Tables for Sale
This very rare table was produced by H. W. Collender in New York circa 1880. H.W. Collender merged with Brunswick & Balke to form the Brunswick Balke Collender Company in 1879.
However, the two companies served as separate entities until 1884 when they became the largest conglomerate in the billiard industry from that point until where it is today.
This "Imperial" is a 4.5x9 regulation size that is comprised of an intricately decorated ornamental cast iron exterior that we have put through an extensive seven month restoration process to remove the old paint that was on the exterior and apply this custom "antique nickel" plated finish. The top rail (or bumper) system is the only exterior part that is wood and not cast iron.
This table would have been originally painted a "stove black" finish with some gold painted highlights. The high quality casting process used over 130 years ago produced a remarkable surface that we were able to successfully apply this finish to, showing the actual beauty of the details in this incredible table instead of painting the surface.
I learned of this table in the 1980's but the owner wasn't interested in selling. In 2012, I was contacted about a possible purchase and after a three year negotiation process I was able to own this very special table. We then started the seven month pain staking restoration process.
My restored antique tables typically cost in the $8,500-$60,000 range, however, this table far exceeds the rarity and price of any other antique pool table shown on this website.
This table has recently been sold.

In addition to this model shown here, we have another very rare H. W. Collender "Occidental" cast iron table. Similar in style, we are preparing to restore it in an "antique brass" finish. Additional information is available upon request.
